THE CEMETERY

I believe the cemetery will turn my life around.......

I still remember the first time like it just happened yesterday. What i usually watch in movies was happing right before me and I couldn't explain it. It wasn't Mercy Johnson or Yul Edochie. It was someone so dear to me.

He was beautifully dressed in one of his best suits. I admire him a lot. He was in a deep sleep, yet didn't seem bothered with the noises coming from all angles. He was so comfortable.

That was my dad lying in his coffin. It was my first time seeing a corpse. I never knew what it means to be dead. An elderly woman moved close to me and said: "you are never going to see him again". That was strange and very hard to believe. I couldn't control the tears.

I always see Mercy Johnson in different movies even after lying in a coffin, so why would my dad's own be different, I asked myself.

He told us he was only going to be away for some time and return back home. He had some ongoing project yet to be completed. He promised to take us out for shopping once he gets back. What going to happen to all of that?

It was so painful, but time pushed us all forward. My mum always says "Death is too far". It doesn't care if you have unfinished work or project. Once the breath seizes, there is no " wait let me round up or pick up something".

Your world may shift, but you are asked to overcome. Make use of the today you witness because nobody can tell what will happen tomorrow. There are so many things you are yet to accomplish.

You were never meant for the low places of life or created to be a liability. Make every second count.

Don't let your dreams end up in the graveyard.
